Act 1 - The Client: I created this background image for my LinkedIn profile. My target audience is professionals who received my resume or a referral. They may have also found me through searching for a copywriter on LinkedIn. They are reviewing my profile to learn more about my skills, experience and how I can help them.
Act 2 - The Challenge: In a sea of highly talented individuals, I wanted to curate my LinkedIn profile to stand out. Using advice from Nicki Krawcyzk with the Comprehensive Copywriting Academy, I created a background image with copy advertising my services.
I wanted a piece that was visually compelling enough to get people to read. The copy needed to quickly grab the attention of anyone scrolling and hook them enough to want to read more of my profile.
Act 3 - The Solution: Even though these were my words advertising my services, I made a creative brief to determine who would read this copy and how to best communicate the benefit to them. They would likely already be in the market for a copywriter, so I would not need to explain what a copywriter is or what I do. I chose to highlight that I would provided engaging copy to boost their business.
I could not put all of my services on this image, but I wanted to provide enough interest that a potential client or employer would scroll down to learn more about me and visit my portfolio site. While I had to be judicious with my word choices, I added dazzle as a fun tie-in to my portfolio site name. I love what I do and wanted to showcase my enthusiasm and personality in this image.
